Nothing works up an appetite like a day of exploring on the East Lancashire Railway line. Starting at Heywood you can stop for a quick cuppa at Tilly’s Tea Room. This cosy family-owned business prides itself on its homemade food, outstanding coffees and an extensive range of specialty teas.

If you still need to fuel up before boarding the train, the fabulous Whistlestop Café is located on the platform at our Heywood Station. Once you’re ready to set off, your first destination will likely be Bury. As the largest station and a bustling Victorian industrial town, there’s a whole host of options here for those looking to sate their appetites. In fact, before you even leave the platform you can sample the wares of The Trackside Pub. This traditional real ale watering hole has a truly unique atmosphere and a mouthwatering menu to boot.

Exploring Bury itself you can drop by the Fusiliers Museum. Owned by the award-winning star of TV Molly Robbins, the store is great for picking up a little something tasty, like a cupcake, or having an elaborate masterpiece custom made for your next event.
