Ales and Snacks

The Buffer Stops Bar offers a bonanza of beverages. There are a total of five real ales and one real cider on handpump, as well as a variety of lagers, continental beers and traditional pub snacks.

Curl up in a cosy carriage

Enjoy a pint with friends on a classic railway carriage. One of our heritage railway carriages – in the winter months (usually January and early February) – is sited just outside of the Buffer Stops on the station platform and offers an atmospheric environment to relax with a beer or hot drink.

Outdoor music sessions at Buffer Stops

Join us on selected Saturday’s throughout the year for live outdoor music, where we’ll be joined by bands from local South Pennine Records. These events start at 7pm and entry is free. Keep an eye on our social media for more info.
