If you’re visiting the East Lancashire Railway this weekend then make sure you swing by Heywood station to refuel at the new Whistlestop Coffee Carriage!
Housed in a former rail unit, the café will serve coffees, teas and hot chocolate as well as a deliciously extensive range of sweet treats including cakes and as many as 12 different flavours of ice cream.
East Lancashire Railway chairman Mike Kelly has said “The opening is great news for families and individuals who want to use a trip on the railway as an opportunity for a grand day out, complete with tea, coffee and cake.”
