Who could forget the Covid Christmas 2020,
A sorry year end that was so empty.
Who could have thought Covid would haunt us again in 2021,
But we remained resolute throughout the year, acting as one.
A year of two halves, initially “locked in” and then “set free”,
We collectively embraced the freedom with unashamed glee.
Again our super staff and super volunteers were simply great,
Their drive and dedication is truly something to celebrate.
From July the dark clouds parted and stayed away,
Opening up a new dawn for our beloved railway.
The return of Scotsman, Galas and other favourite events,
To see thousands of our returning customers was heaven sent.
A year of two halves finished on a high for everyone’s sake,
The successful delivery of Santa Specials was the icing on the cake.
So onwards and upwards for 2022,
We reset and our financial building efforts start anew.
To all staff, volunteers and their families who have had so much to bear,
Wishing you all a Happy & Peaceful New Year.
