This weekend we’re thrilled to be offering Brake Van Rides within the station area at Bury with steam locomotive 32 “Gothenburg”. These are a fantastic way to enhance an already brilliant day out at the East Lancashire Railway, you’ll be enjoying all the sights and sounds of the ELR from the best seats in the house!
Each ride is on a first come first served basis for those that have purchased an online ELR Day Rover or Full Line Return ticket in advance, and lasts approximately 15 minutes.
Start times for both days are:
10:10, 10:30, 10:55, 11:15, 12:00, 13:10, 14:00, 14:55 and 15:45.
Terms and conditions:
Minimum age: 5 years (children must be accompanied by an adult)
Participants must be physically able to board and alight the brake van unassisted
No participant may travel on this service if they have either a) consumed any alcohol, or b) appear to be under the influence of having consumed alcohol
Due to the age and design of the brake vans we regret that we are unable to accept people who require the assistance of a mobility scooter, walking aid or wheelchair
ELR members of staff may refuse travel to anyone not compliant with these conditions, or those that appear to be unfit to travel. ELR staff discretion is final and not open to appeal.
