We’re heading into the final stretch of 2023 now but we’ve saved the best until last! This week we’ve received exciting news concerning both next week’s Autumn Diesel Gala and the upcoming Autumn Steam Gala.
The Diesel Gala takes place 15 – 16 September 2023, and we’re thrilled to announce that Green Class 37, 37667 will be attending, courtesy of the Locomotive Services Group. She joins 40, 40012 “Aureol” (appearing courtesy of The Class 40 Appeal) and other heritage diesel engines and DMU’s for what promises to be a stellar couple of days out. There’s even an evening Beer-Ex on both days in case you build up a thirst.

There have also been a couple of awesome announcements regarding the Autumn Steam Gala, taking place 13 – 15 October 2023. The first guests, 8F 48305 (appearing courtesy of the Great Central Railway) was swiftly joined on the line up by LMS 45690 “Leander” (appearing thanks to the Jubilee Locomotive Company).
These engines are running alongside an impressive home fleet roster on an intensive timetable that will feature goods trains and shunting demonstrations.
